For organic farming, sustainability means in concrete terms: conserving limited sources of energy and raw materials, striving for closed material and energy cycles, and avoiding external means of production. Diverse crop rotations also ensure that the natural ecosystem can regulate itself as naturally as possible. Other measures, such as flower strips and hedges, encourage beneficial insects and provide appropriate habitats for wild animals and plants. The focus on diversity – so fundamental to organic farming – thus brings numerous positive benefits for nature and biodiversity conservation.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
