Organic farming works with and for nature not against it<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n Our diet makes up a relevant part of global greenhouse gas emissions. The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change estimates that it’s as much as 21 to 27 percent. And the majority of our food comes from the field – which is why it is so important to focus on organically grown food. Because harvests from organic fields are made in harmony with nature and not at nature’s expense, organic agriculture is a climate-friendly and therefore sustainable system. Across the world, organic land is better adapted to climate change and extreme weather events. This is due in part to the fact that organic farmers take advantage of the many benefits of humus, which stores carbon.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n Organic farming as an effective climate saver<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n Organic farming is also an active climate protector, because nitrous oxide emissions are on average around a quarter lower – organic farming thus reduces emissions.
