New: Bioland Quality

You may have already noticed that we’ve switched some of our products to Bioland certification, including our chocolate cookies, lemon cookies and carrot cookies. In doing so, we remain committed to high-quality organic products that meet our standards. So what’s changing isn’t our promise of quality, but the standard by which we’ll select our raw materials from now on: formerly Demeter, now Bioland.

Bioland stands for a particularly consistent form of organic farming. In many areas, its guidelines go beyond the legal EU organic requirements and place great emphasis, among other things, on preserving soil fertility, promoting biodiversity and using resources as naturally as possible. For us, this means we can continue to rely on organic raw materials whose cultivation supports ecological cycles and avoids the use of synthetic chemical pesticides and fertilizers.

Best Bioland taste

The most important thing for everyone who already loves our cookies: Nothing has changed in the recipes. Our products still taste just the way you know and love them. The switch to Bioland ingredients doesn’t change the recipe, only the origin and standards of individual ingredients. So our chocolate cookies remain deliciously chocolatey, the lemon cookies delicately fresh and the carrot cookies wonderfully aromatic. For us, this transition is therefore another step toward consciously selecting our ingredients while maintaining our proven organic quality.

Canestrelli -> lemon cookies

As part of the changeover, we’ve also tweaked the names of a few products. A good example is our Canestrelli, which are now called “Lemon Cookies.” Even though “Canestrelli” sounds charming, the name doesn’t immediately reveal what’s actually inside. With “Lemon Cookies,” it’s immediately clear what you can expect: a delicate cookie with a hint of lemon. New names, new ingredients, but one thing remains the same: Sommer continues to stand for organic quality, great taste, and carefully selected ingredients.
