SEASONAL CALENDAR

Germany is one of the world’s largest importers of agricultural products such as fruit, vegetables and cereals. The self-sufficiency rate for fruit is just around 20%, while the rate for vegetables is 37% – even though Germany is the world’s second-largest importer of vegetables. So we see that a large part of our food is imported from abroad – but that doesn’t have to be the case!

When you eat seasonally and regionally, you choose products that are fresh from the field. Fruits and vegetables taste the most intense this way and have the shortest way to the shelves. In February you can prepare a really tasty and seasonal salad with chicory or field salad (to which, by the way, our Demeter Croûtons herbs go wonderfully!), prepare really crispy brussels sprouts or tasty oven vegetables with parsley root and parsnip.

And for a balanced diet, treat yourself to a moment of pleasure with the most delicious pastries, cookies and snacks in the best organic quality and with ingredients from sustainable agriculture.
